History

Chamrail High School has started its journey since 1954 with the affiliation of class VIII i.e. the upper primary section (Co-education). Since inception it has been adjascent to the primary school. It is the only Boys’ school  in the locality, Chamrail, Howrah. The local distinguished, devotee of learning Narayani Dasi, Saraswati Dasi, Kebal Santra, Sitanath Santra, Lakhsminarayan Kayal, Kanailal Das, Ghanteswar Das, Jawharlal Das & Tarapada Mondal donated the land. Kebal Santra & Felaram Santra built up the building. The school with its limited infrastructure but limitless endeavour of the staff and local people continued its journey and earned name & fame that propelled it to be secondary school in 1963 and Higher secondary in 1992. As the number of the student grows, the Girls’ section was segregated with separate entity. Now the school, Chamrail High School has been upgraded   to Higher Secondary section with Science, Arts & Commerce stream. The last but not the least is the NCC wings that was introduced in the school in 1974 & has been practicing skillfully till today with a devoted patriotic feeling.
