The Story of a School _ from Sapling to a Shady Tree

In 1976 some residents of the village Napaty felt the need to illuminate the area with the light of education and established a Junior school in the area. The classes started in the morning session of the Napaty Converted Junior Basic school. The local people like Jaggeswar Bhattacharjee, Sital Bodak, Nidhir Roy and Gopal Santra took the initiative to start the classes. Smt. Gita Das, a resident of Bally town area was appointed as the Headmistress of the school. Smt. Gita Shil (Roy) and Manju Dutta (Pal) of the locality were appointed as assistant teachers. Till then the school did not get Govt. approval.  But they were trying to get it as early as possible. In 1977 Shree Subhas Chandra Bhattacharjee came to join the school as an assistant teacher. In 1977 the ruling dispensation of the state changed . In this new era new initiatives had to be taken to get the approval from the Govt. At that time the secretary of the organizing committee was Shree Gopal Santra. After that Shree Haren Chandra Mondal became the secretary of the organizing committee. In 1986 an inspection was conducted on behalf of the District inspector of schools. At that time in the science section two assistant  teachers  Shree Kamal Das and Shree Sarit Ghosh, a clerk, Debdas Chandra Ganguly and a group D staff Smt. Sabitri Bodak were appointed to exhibit the suitable  infrastructure of the school to get approval. Maya Chakraborty on behalf of the District inspector of schools came for inspection and submitted her report to the Govt. At that time the school had neither its own land nor its own building. This created a problem.  In collaboration with the local club Pravati Sangha eighty shatak land was allotted and a cutcha classroom was built. After that in May 1991 the school got Govt approval. In the same year four teachers who were appointed at the initial stage got Govt. approval for their job. Later rest of the teachers were approved by the Govt. Mathematics teacher Shree Kamal Das left the school before it became Govt aided school. In 2000 the school got sanction as Madhyamik school and six new teachers joined through SSC. In 2004 Shree Amalendu Das was appointed as the Headmaster of the school. In 2006 Vocational courses for class XI and XII started. Vocational course for eighth standard nursing training also started. In 2002 a new building of the school came into being. In 2007 another two storied building was built.

At present Napaty High School is striving for excellence with its performance in all the streams .
