History

The dream of some well wishers and educationists of Birshibpur came true as the Birshibpur Shiksha Niketan emarged on the auspicious day of February 22nd in the year 1961. The aim of establishing such an educational institute was to enlighten the majority of underprivileged children of the surrounding neighbourhood. The school first attained recognition on 01.01.1962 for 2-class Junior High School, then on 01.01.1966 for 4-class Junior High School and on 01.05.1996 for Secondary level (X class) as the leading co-educational school of the locality. This secondary co-educational school was upgraded to Higher Secondary level with Arts stream and later permission of Science stream was obtained in 2009. The school also flourished from thatched house to three storeyed building with the Government aid and help from the well wishers. The teachers, guardinas and member of the school are dediacted to make this school ideal for students.
