Sri. Dwarikanath Kayal, the then local Zminder and social reformer, after returning from his pilgrimage to Brindavan, realised that real reform in society could only be brought by enlightening people through spread of Education. He believed that service to God can only be made possible through service to mankind. He planned to set up an educational institution to spread education among the marginalised Scheduled Caste and Minority population of the locality. With this aim, he donated huge plot of lands in the name of Lord Govindajiu and in association with few local educationist, he laid the foundation of Palpara Gobindajiu High School on 24th January, 1923. Thus the institution started its journey to become the most prestigious educational institution of the block with a glorious legacy of achievement and academics. The institution had got its first recognition as a Secondary school on 1957 and as a Higher secondary institution on 1959.
