
Bahira High School is one of the oldest secondary school of uluberia. It is situated at Bahira village of Uluberia sub division in howrah district. It was setup in 1961 in the plots (43 shatak) donated by Lt. Jatindranath Roy, Lt. Debendranath Roy and Lt. Bhadreswar Roy. The school was started with class V & VI. Some famous and educated persons of this area like Jatin Das, Gopal Das, Dhiren Polley, Biswanath Purkait, Motilal Paramanik, Judhisthir Roy took the noble initiative to establish this school. The common people of the surrounding villages like Bahira, Choto Amsha, Boro Amsha, Khaspur, Birupur, Damodarpur, Mahishali also came forward enthusiastically and generously with their helping hands to setup this school. Respected lt. Jatin Das was the first secretary and respected Lt. Judhisthir Roy was the first Head master of Bahira High School. There after Abhra Ketan Bhattyacharya was the second Head master and then Ashok Karar, newly appointed (24/7/2019) as the Head master of this school.
