History

                                 G.B. Pur Usha Rani Karati Balika Vidyalaya was established in 1961 as G.B. Pur Balika Vidyalaya by some eminent personalities namely ANIL KARATI (the school was renamed after his mother Usha Rani Karati), Prandhan Roy,Dr. Kanailal Polley, Mohan Lal Chandra, Bijoy Karati, Jibon Dey, Lalit Chakraborty, Ganashyam Maji, MLA Pannalal Maji and many other persons. It came under the department of Education as Junior High School in 1963 and later upgraded to high school in the year 1980.

                                 The school land was donated by Prandhan Roy upon which Anil Karati built up the building.Thereafter many persons helped to extend the building further and by the fund of SSM the buiding came up what it is today. 

                                 The school  started with four teachers and the number of teachers gradually increased, but recently the school is facing scarcity of teachers.
