Facts about the Institution:-

The Maju village is one of the ancient reputed inhabitants of Howrah. Basu family is one of the pioneer  families  who hosted the flag of cultural aspects of Maju. Baradaprasad Basu, the son of Ramnarayan Basu and Bamasundari Basu established Maju Ramnarayan Basu High School in 1883 in reminiscence of his Late father for educational developments of that rural arena. Then The Maju Ramnarayan Basu Girl's High School was established in 2nd January, 1963 as Junior High School (Class VIII ). Some prominent  personalities like Sushil Kumar Das, Ranajit Ganguly, Parimal Basu, Pratap Basu, Asitananda Mukherjee, Shivapada Sarkar, Nandadhan Sarkar, Sri Prasad Sau, Dr Kanailal Sarbadhikari devoted their great endeavor to materialise this generous purpose. Mrs Anita Sarkar administered the study and executive activities from it's very beginning. Only 70 to 80 students were enrolled and 4 teachers were appointed  at  the time of  initiation.Then  Mrs Puspa Maity joined as Headmistress of this Institution. Though the Institutiin had been upgraded as Secondary School in 1966,  but due to lack of own building it ministered in the morning session(06:30AM to 10:30 AM) at Maju R N  Basu High School. Later it has been permanently shifted to own building in June'2008 ,  constructed by the donations of villagers on the land donated by Baradaprosad Basu,  with the sincere efforts of then Teacher-in-Charge Smt Kankanmala Bhattacharya and the Assistant  Teachers . Now, numbers of Classrooms are gradually increasing by various government schemes. This Institution has been honoured to ascension as Higher Secondary in 2014 under the then Headmistress Smt Maitrayee Mukhopadhyay. Science and Arts streams are almost  continuing  till date.
