Baganda Jatadhari High School was initially founded sans government recognition in the early 1950s as a Two-class(classes V & VI) Junior High School for Girls by some local education enthusiasts and benevolent persons for the welfare of the village girls through spread of education among them who come not only from a backward community but also from a backward locality chiefly inhabited by poor and ignorant rustics.
The school received its first official recognition in the year 1957 as a Two-class(classes V & VI) Junior High School (coeducational) which was subsequently upgraded to a Four-class(up to class VIII) Junior High School (coeducational) in 1965 and further on to a Madhyamik School (coeducational) in 1982. It gained its Higher Secondary School status in the year 2006 for ARTS subjects alone. However, from 2008 onwards, the SCIENCE stream also starts running side by side with the ARTS stream.
The school made another great leap forward in the year 2009, whenceforth it becomes a Multipurpose High School with the introduction of the VOCATIONAL stream(approved by West Bengal State Council of Technical and Vocational Education and Skill Development) to cater to the needs and aptitudes of different kinds of students. Here, in the VIII+ Level, we have three separate disciplines — namely, RUEL, HALK, & WELD; and in the X+ Level, there are two separate disciplines — viz., HEALTH SCIENCE discipline(MACC) & I.T. discipline(CAAM).
Both the GENERAL & VOCATIONAL streams operate and flourish smoothly.
