
It was on the behest of the members of the school managing committee namely, Sri Benoy Krishna Ghosh (Secretary), Sri Nirapado Malik(President), Sri Shyamal Kumar Bhattacharya (Vice-president) and the-then Headmaster of Jhorehat Fakir Chandra High School, Sri A.K Maity that a resolution was adopted in a meeting on 05.02.85 in order to start co-education in the school in the same session.
This resolution was a direct reflection of the aspirations of the local residents of Jhorehat and its immediate surroundings. On the basis of the aforesaid resolution, the West Bengal Board of Secondary Education was approached for recognition of a separate school for the girl students under the name of Jhorehat Fakir Chandra Junior High School for Girls by the organising committee of the school. The recognition was granted by the-then Secretary of the West Bengal Board of Secondary Education, Sri Sudhin Chattopadhyay, vide memo 5/314 dated 25.02.1987.
Further in pursuance of the resolution of the Executive Committee dated 30.11.04,the West Bengal Board of Secondary Education recognised the school as a high school on the recommendations of the State Govt. vide memo no.1302-SE(S1/35-13/99) dated 18.10.2004 w.e.f 01.05.2004
