History

The establishment of Dafarpur Prabartak Vidyamandir(HS) dates back to 1st January, 1963 when it was first recognized as 2 class Junior High School by West Bengal Board of Secondary Education as a result of tirelees efforts of the members of Prabartak Sangha and local enthusiasts, bent on spreading education in the vicinity. There was no question of looking back since then and the wave of developement flowed on. The institution was recognized as 4 class Junior High School on 1st January, 1964 and upgraded to Class XI (Old HS pattern) after two years on 1st January, 1966.

In the meantime the school building grew, new classrooms were constructed and all kinds of facilities were made avilable through the utilization of different funds. By virtue of a letter of reogniition from West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education Higher Secondary courses in Arts started from the Academic Session 2012-2013 and few years later Science Stream was opened. The school building has still been growing with the growth of success rate of our students' performance in public examinations.

We have always been nurturing this history with respectful remembrance of those learned people who dedicated their time, energy and money to establish this institution. The school administration is always on the lookout for all kinds of betterment of it. In this holy temple of learning students find serene atmosphere to pursue their studies. The school building, built in the lap of nature and surrounded by trees, is free from hustle and bustle. In addition to this peaceful environment all the teaching and non-teaching staff of this institution extend their hearty affection and co-operation to the students to enable them to study in a pleasant social atmosphere.
