MAKARDAH GIRLS HIGH SCHOOL was established on 24th September in the year 1920. This School was established by Late Sadhan Chandra Sreemany of Makardah, in the District of Howrah. Probably this is first Girls School which was established in the pre-independence age at Domjur Block. This Premier Teaching Institution has been serving with great efforts for the progress of society in respect of spreading Education & Culture among the girls of the Locality for last 100 years. In its long Journey our School had to cross many hazards yet our School Has been trying its best to develop Human Resources. At present total Students Strength is about 2400 and number of Teachers 40.Excellent results in Madhyamik and Higher Secondary Examinations, efficient Teaching Staff, Strict Discipline, Cultural atmosphere along with so many facilities like Solar panel, C.C.Camera, Aqua Guard, Equipped Computer Lab ,and labs of other Subjects like Physics, Chemistry, Biological Science, Geography, Nutrition, Vocational Course(IT & ITES, Apparel),Biometric Machine etc. Made it the most popular and reputed Educational Institute in the District of Howrah. The Glorious Centenary celebration of our beloved school was observed through out the year 2019 in a colorful and befitting manner.
