Khantora Radharani Laha Memorial Girls'High School is a Government-Sponsored Secondary School at Khantora,a prosperous village under Domjur Police Station in Howrah District. It was established in the year 1938 to promote women's education in subjugated India. At that time there was no school for girls in the village. Women mainly remained confined at home ,deprived of the benefits of education. At first, a school was set up in the name ,"Khantora Vidyasagar Balika Vidyalaya with a few girls from the village. It did not have its own school building then. Later, Late Shri Netai Charan Laha, a renowned educationist and a very generous person ,donated the land for the building of the school . According to his wishes, the school was renamed as "Khantora Radharani Laha Memorial Girls' High School " in the memory of his close relative Late Shrimati Radharani Laha.Though the school was set up as a result of the collective will ,vision and efforts of all the villagers ,we remember with gratitude and reverence the pioneering roles played by Late Netai Charan Laha and Late Shri Tinkari Mill.
The journey taken since 1938 has been a magical one marked by splendid milestones. 1964 was an important year in the evolution of Khantora Radharani Laha Memorial Girls'High School as in this year it was upgraded to the secondary level. In 2013 we have celebrated it's glorious platinum jubilee .
Judging by the academic result our school has been doing reasonably well. In the 21st century the students need to develop special skills for critical thinking. We are working here to achieve this goal. Our classrooms are are well equipped with pictures ,charts ,models and scientific and geography TLM materials. Our computer lab and the students library develop the potentiality of our students and their love for learning.
Let us all help our future nation builders in their endeavours.
