History

Biprannapara Barowaritala Primary school was founded in the middest of a thickly populated village named Biprannapara. Witness of many agitations and court cases the historic Saraswati river is flowing just behind the school. The school plays a commendable role in spreading education among the dwellers of Biprannapara and it’s neighbouring villages. It took many decades to spread education and improve the school from a makeshift tiles roofed one room pathshala to a double storied building.

During the year 1920 Plague ruined the village. A piece of Govt. land at the bank of river Saraswati was used as a mass burial ground. When life normalised few educationists and social workers of the village set up a pathshala on that land. But efforts went in vain. Superstitious parents did not send their children to that pathshala. Darkness prevailed. The pathshala became a shelter of anti socials and hooligans.

Again after almost three decades another concrete effort was put up by few educationists, social workers and local residents who felt the necessities of spreading education among socially and economically backward people of the village. They went from door to door to collect money, gathered people to work, and built few more rooms. Due to their all round effort, finally on 05 January 1955 Biprannapara Barowaritala Primary school started functioning officially. Shri Shambhu Bachar, Shri Ramani Pal, Shri Ananta Ganguly, Shri Gopal Naskar, Shri Sadhan Chattopadhyay, Shri Ananta Naskar and few others played a memorable and commendable role to turn once a mass graveyard to an educational institution. Afterwards donations from local people started pouring in. Teachers took initiative and the school started progressing. Later on Shri Netai Kesh, an eminent local social worker extended his free service to the school. Almost for 20 years he served at no cost inside the school for the school and outside the school for the school. His sad demise is an irreparable loss to the school and the society. As time and tide waits for none, the school is marching ahead to build good citizens for the nation.
