History

Belgachia Mahatma Aswini Dutta Vidyapith was set up in the year 1960. There were two sections Primary Section and Junior high Section. Classes of Primary Section generally held in the morning session. The Junior High Section was held in the day session. There were almost 250 students and six teachers started their journey for the excellency of education. In 1967, the school was upgraded to Madhyamik level. Since its birth the school has been going on the same premises 100, 'K' Road, Belgachia, Howrah. With the cry of the time numberof students and teachers has also enhanced. Students raised to 400 and the teachers from six to nine. Then as many as 40 students appeared Madhyamik Examination every year.They performed satisfactorily well. Students of lower middle class family were majority in number. They are now still possessing the same. Students are well-conversant in co-curricular activities, particularly in games and sports as before. It is a co-educational institution where both boys and girls students share every learning moments with intense curiosity and profound interest. Now, the School has crossed precious 60 years produced outstanding learners. It has become a genuine landmank of spreading education and imparting knowledge in the lower middle class locality.
