History

Our school was founded in 1930. Initially the school was located at Lakshman Das Lane, Panchanantala Road, Howrah. The school was established with students from class I to III. The school was named Howrah Girls School. The eminent jurist, the late Jogesh Chandra Dasgupta established the present school on 45 kathas of land at 20 No. G.T. Road. Currently the primary section of the school has classes from pre-primary to class V. Currently our primary school has about 600 students. The current name of our school is Jogesh Chandra Girls Primary And Junior Basic School, Howrah, named after the founder. Currently the primary section of the school has classes from pre-primary to class V. Our primary school currently has about 500 students.
