Under the stewardship of generous local patrons including educationists Sir Ashok Mallick and Sir Surendranath Chatterjee, BANTRA PUBLIC LIBRARY SIKSHA NIKETAN GIRLS' HIGH SCHOOL was founded on the 5th of July, 1962.Affiliated to the W.B.B.S.E the Government Sponsored School initially followed the '9+2' structure prevalent at that time before changing into a Secondary School and finally upgraded to an H.S institution from 2013 onwards. From the onset, it had been revered as a leading all-girls's school in its vicinity and several former students of the institution have managed to carve out successful well established careers. The 58- year old institution still stands tall, embarking on the same mission as envisioned by its founders.
