At first the school started in 1944.Deshbandhu Balika Vidyalaya was seperated from the school in 1945.Then the school moved to different places with the help of different people.Then 64 Circular Road, now 184 Netaji Subhas Road continues to be Mr." Cotton School", the place was about three bighas.The house was used for epidemic Plague in the Nineteen Century. This epedemic killed many people. As a result the house became known as the "House of Ghosts". The school was closed.One of the founders,Bibhuti Mukherjee started " Cotton Deshbandhu Vidyalaya" by breaking down the front door of the house. A problem was arised to get Govt. approval by the name. Then the house was brought by Sarbadhikar family. As a result the case started. It was decided in the case  that the school can be used for only Rs. 300 but the school authorities have to do the renovation or other works. Inthis way the school got Govt. appoval in 31st December,1953. At present the school has become Govt. Sponsored school.
