History

In 1916 three persons interested in education - Sri Bijoy Krishna Bhattacharya, Sri Pulin Behari Halder and Sri Pannalal Mukhopadhyay took initiative for the spread of Women's Education and established Sibpur Bhabani Balika Vidyalaya in the name of Kumari Bhabani Banerjee who got first admitted into the school.

The school was first recognised by Calcutta University in 1944 as Secondary Institution. Later on it was upgraded to Higher Secondary Multipurpose School in 1957 and to Higher Secondary (XI + XII) by West Bengal Council of Higher Secodary Education in 1976.
