History

           Sadananda Mission High School  is situated at Balitikuri , P.O-Balitikuri ,  Howrah. It is located 8 KM apart  from  Howrah District Town and is on the side of Amata-Howrah road. The school building is designed to harmonise with the scenic backdrop . The clear air, tranquil surroundings and serene environment make it ideal for scholarly pursuit. It  was established in 1969 by some  eminent educationists and social workers of this locality with full cooperation of local public. Their dedication and renunciation would never be forgotten. The basic concept for setting up of this school was to impart schooling facility to the children of this locality who are by and large below the poverty line. The aim was to close the door of illiteracy of this locality.  It  is a co-educational school with modern outlook. It is a Bengali medium day school from class-V to class-X.                    

         At present the school has a three storey building except one part of the building which has been made two storey. It has 14 class rooms, one common room, library room, staff room, computer lab, seminar hall, music room, office room and a well decorated Headmaster’s office. All the rooms are specious and airy.

        The school has its own Computer Training Centre with internet facility for the students run by competent instructor and issues certificate after completion of the course.                         

        There are over 200 students on the school roll. The school  aims at giving a qualitatively high standard of education making the students responsive to the needs of the society.                                             

          The school has a library with more than 3000 volumes ranging from fiction to the latest text books and an amalgamation of journal and periodicals on a wide spectrum of subjects.                 

          The school provides a wide range of Sports and Recreation. Every year Annual Sports Day is organized and Prizes are given to the winners. The toppers of each class also get prizes for their academic excellence and cultural proficiency.                            

          Every year the school observes the Independence day, Republic Day, Netaji’s Birth day, Rabindra Jayanti, Teacher’s Day,Children’s day and other national important days.

             The school offers the students a wide range of training programme that impart knowledge skill and expertise in various fields. In Work Education class, they learn how to produce different socially useful products. In Physical Education class emphasis is given to form a healthy body for healthy mind.

              The school is going to introduce very shortly an impressive Fine Arts department comprising of Art and Music room. Great emphasis will be laid on music, painting and drawing.

             Apart from this, the school is also going to bring out an annual school magazine from this session to provide the students an opportunity to express and exercise their creative, artistic and literary talents.
