History

This age-old educational institution is a pioneer of women education in Liluah area of Howrah district, established in 1st April, 1944. The turmoiled country in the pre independence era, the prejudiced society, all were hindrances towards women education and women empowerment. But nothing could stop the dream of industrialist RAY SAHEB MAHADEO PRASAD SWAIKA. The other patrons who rendered their help to him in this great endeavour were- Late Sarabindu Guha, Late Dr. Monilal Basu, Late Gaganendra Nath Ghosh, Late Probodh kumar Chattopadhyay, Late Satish Chandra Sen, Late Amarendra Nath Bol, Biswanath Bhattacharya, Nakuleshwar Ghosh, Ajit Kumar Chatterjee and many other renowned personalities of the area. Initiated as a primary school, this school became a full fledged Madhyamik school in the year 1968. In 1975, the school started the Hindi medium. Since then, this school is reigning as the only BILINGUAL school of the area. Higher Secondary section has been started from the Academic year 2003-2004. The School has celebrated its Platinum Jubilee in the year 2018-19 with much grandeur.
