History

      History of the school.

   Cossipore Institution 15/1 Ratan Babu Road Kolkata- 700002 is the oldest school in the north of the city of Kolkata the cultural capital of India.  It is situated by the side of the Ganga river & Ratan Babu Mahasashan, in the west Kuthighat & Ramkrishna Math, in the north Cossipore Uddan Bati & in the east slums area.  It was established in the year 5 th July 1937 by the effort of the local people.  School runs in two shifts.  Morning session primary from I to V & day session VI to X.  Schools starts from 10:50 A.M. & ends 4:30 P.M. The school is running by administrator.  The old school building is damaged by the anti social people.  School is now four storied building.  Now it has been running as residential complex school conducted by S.S.M. for the poor & deprived students since 2012.

   Mid day meal is given for the students since 2010 conducted by school authority.  Every year we take part in the various tournament as well as competition like district sports complex, Bankim cup tournament etcetera.

   Most of the students are first generation learner.  They are backward in financial condition yet the result of Madhyamik Pariksha is laudable.

   The school sports team is our pride.  The most colourful in school each and every year in the prize day.
