History

There was a time when there were mainly two types of Bengali Medium Schools - Government Schools set up and maintained by Government itself  and other type of schools founded by the sponsorship of individuals/ trust etc. These schools were taken over by Government in later times and there were called as Government aided schools. A third type of schools were founded in 1960’s by the Calcutta Improvement Trust (C.I.T ) as junior high schools- integrated from class I to VIII. CIT was an undertaking of Government and as a result those schools were partially, constructed by Government and those schools were named as Sponsored school. In later days Government directly took over these Governments Sponsored schools. School building and the land is a direct property of Government. Ours school is one of such type of SPONSORED school.During passage of time the school was upgraded to High and then Higher Secondary school. The school was established on 17 th January 1963 and heading towards celebration of Diamond Jubilee in 2023 with a very healthy enrollment.
