History

Our school was established on 10th January in 1949 at 116, Madanmohon Street adjacent to the college market. The school is named after Prafulla Chandra Roy , the great scientist and the founder of Bengal Chemicals and Raja Pratapaditya Roy , one of members of 'Baro Bhunias'. Our school is now upgraded to government sponsored school.

In the early stage, the school was started in government owned building. But after some years the school building was shifted in the Garpar Road and after that a new land was bought from Calcutta Improvement Trust with the financial help of teachers. Now the new building was developed with the heartiest financial contribution of  some  reputed persons interested in education and also Sarva Shiksha Mission , Kolkata. Now our school is situated at Kankurgachi ( 105, Satin sen Sarani, Kolkata- 700054 ) .

The students of our school are mainly the first generation learners. They are coming from under priviledged section of the society . The teachers of our institution are very sincere in discharge of their duties. They are committed to provide the best education to our students. We are also committed to help all our students become productive and responsible members of the society by creating learning envirnment that enhances the social , emotional , physical and intellectual growth of the students.
