History

Our building of Beleghata Deshbandhu Girls’ High School (H.S) started its journey in 1948 as a very small primary school. Today after 73 years it is now a palatial four-storied building. Everyone is proud of how far it has come.

Today we boast 21 airy and decently lit classrooms with four smart-class enabled variants. (Room. 7, 10, 13 and computer room). We have an extensive Library, a well-equipped lab for Chemistry, Physics, Geography, Biology and Home Management. We also have some nooks and crannies for the counselling of students as well as use as storerooms on the 2^nd floor.

Other than the Headmistress’ room we have a staffroom, an office room and two residential quarters for the ‘live-in’ staff.

We have toilets on all of the floors other than the second floor. We have an allocated area for the mid-day meal beside the spacious school playgrounds. We have a garden adjoining the playground. We also have a Kitchen, and separate Water Purifiers for safe potable water for students and teachers respectively.  

We have a beautiful veranda/walkway on every floor with a large common portico on the ground floor as well as an expansive covered roof on the third floor. We have a well-protected big gate with CCTV surveillance for more safety and security of our students and everyone else.
