History

Our building of Beleghata Deshbandhu Girls’ High School (H.S) started its journey in 1948 as a very small primary school. Today after 73 years it is now a palatial four-storied building. Everyone is proud of how far it has come.

Today we boast 21 airy and decently lit classrooms with four smart-class enabled variants. (Room. 7, 10, 13 and computer room). We have an extensive Library, a well-equipped lab for Chemistry, Physics, Geography, Biology and Home Management. We also have some nooks and crannies for the counselling of students as well as use as storerooms on the 2nd floor.

Other than the Headmistress’ room we have a staffroom, an office room and two residential quarters for the ‘live-in’ staff.

We have toilets on all of the floors other than the second floor. We have an allocated area for the mid-day meal beside the spacious school playgrounds. We have a garden adjoining the playground. We also have a Kitchen, and separate Water Purifiers for safe potable water for students and teachers respectively.

We have a beautiful veranda/walkway on every floor with a large common portico on the ground floor as well as an expansive covered roof on the third floor. We have a well-protected big gate with CCTV surveillance for more safety and security of our students and everyone else.
