History

Kasba Balika Vidyalaya ,a Higher Secondary School for girls is situated on the southern side of the Rash behari Connector very close to the Kasba Samnnoy Club. Founded in 1927,it has since then been catering  to students coming from  the lower middle class families. Starting off as a high school ,over the years it has gradually grown to its present form.There are around 700 students in this school at present. Students from classes VI to XII (V-XII in 2019) are taught by some 30  teachers  with utmost sincerity and compassion.

There are three sreams- Arts,Science and Commerce in the HS section.

The School Compound which was formerly a grassy land surrounded by boundary walls is now 'Balaka' where all sorts of cultural events are held all the year round including the daily morning assemblies. 'Balaka' was  inaugurated in 2010.

Our school houses laboratories for all practical based subjects like Physics,Chemistry,Biology, Geography, Nutrition and Home Management. There is a computer room with computers for students to master the most needed subject of the hour.

The school library is a treasure house of all sorts of collection of books in Bengali- besides academic text and reference books of all subjects of all standards there are various classics and fictional books as well.
