History

                    The SOUTH CALCUTTA NATIONAL SCHOOL has a proud heritage. the school, only for boys, was founded by Deshbandhu Chittaranjan Das in 1921 and Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose was the founder secretary. It was a part of the National Council of Education, founded by Sri Aurobinda. National leaders like Jatindra Mohan Sengupta, Jatin Das, Maharaj Trailokyo Nath Chakrabarty were associated with the school as teachers. Mahatma Gandhi, Pandit Motilal Nehru, Dr. Rajendra Prasad paid August visit to this institution.

                  After Independence it got itself affiliated to the University of Calcutta ( memo no. 1749/1629, Dated : 19.11.1948 ) and later on to the Board of Secondary Education, West Bengal ( memo no. 113/7(1), Dated : 03.08.1984 )

                  Now the school is converted to Govt. Sponsored School from Non-Govt. aided school vide memo no. 5415/RMSA/SL/5S-264/12, Dated : 30.09.2013
