History

Bankim Ghosh Memorial Girls' High School is a heritage institution situated at Kidderepore . This school was founded by the respected freedom fighter Shri Satish Chandra Maity in 1934. The school was initially started with only twenty students . The school was name after Shri Bankim Chandra Ghosh , the then famous advocate of Calcutta High court . 

Apart from education , the students also began to participaye in various practices for self defense like dagger handling , swimming , bratachari , parade and march past . Weaving and sewing also were parts of education forcself dependence . Reformist Maity marked a change with his idea of women empowerment .
