History

Tollygunge Girish Chandra Institution is situated at 12 D, Deshapra Shasmal Road, Kolkata – 33, Index no A3-098.

 The first recognition was given by the Board of Secodary Education, West Begal as a high school, w.e.f  01/01/1957 with Memo No 27/g dated  02/01/1957.

 Permanent recognition was given by the W.B.B.S.E as a high school by its Memo No 5048/G dated 26/7/1974.

  School came under Grant-in-aid scheme as per Memo No 254(1500) Sc/S, dated 12/03/1965 for the year 1962-63 (W.B.B.S.E)

   Further the Government of West Bengal was pleased to covert TGCI from non-government aided school recognized by W.B.B.S.E to Government sponsored school recognized by W.B.B.S.E vide Memo No 544/RMSA/SL/55-264/dated 30/09/ 2015.
