
After independence, lack of quality educational facilities for Hindi speaking students, specially girls in the Tollygunge Area was engaging serious attention of several enthusiastic social workers of Hindi Community. Founder Member Shri L.P. Tripathy took the lead in the matter.Keeping in view the paramount importance of girls educaion,on auspicious day of Ganesh Chaturthi , 1958,a separate school for girls was established at 37 Deshpran Sashmal Road,Calcutta-700033.Smt Hem Chaturvedi,Smt Kaur, Smt Rajrani Sinha,Smt Nirmal Chaturvedi,Smt Usha Pandey,teachers of the school also played pivotal role in the matter.The school was affiliated to West Bengal Board Of Secondary Education in 1978 and came under Grant in Aid in 1980.Tollygunge Adarsh Hindi High School For Girls has been in existence for nearly 63 years and during this period it has been able to carve out a niche for itself in the educational firmament.Sustained efforts are on all the time to constantly revise and upgrade the curriculum so as to properly equip the students to prove equal to the emerging challenges of modern society.
