History

Our school Dhakuria Sri Ram Roy institution is one of the first four schools established  in Kolkata  and possibly first in South Kolkata area by the then British Government in the year of 1862.Then it was known as  Dhakuria ME School. It got first recognition as a high school with effect from 1st January, 1956 vide memo no 30658/G dated Calcutta, the 29/12/55 and it was christened as Dhakuria Sri Ram Roy institution. Many luminaries in different walks of life have passed  from this school.
