History

Barisha Asar Vidyapith was first established on 3rd April 1953. It was established by some local educationist and social workers like Murari Mohan Basu, Smt. Ranu Bhattacharya, Sri Gouranga Bhattacharya and many other respected persons. Their sole intention was to make the opportunity for everyone to come under the light of education. At first they started their class in respected Murari Mohan Basu's courtyard. Sri Sankar Bhattacharya was the first headmaster of the newly formed co - ed school. As the number of students were increasing  day by day, the school was devided into two parts - the second one was formed in the house of Sri Jyotindra Mohan Basu, the another pillar of the school, near Silpara Sitala Mandir. As the glory and popularity of the school was increasing then it was the time to build a larger school to accomodate all the pupils. With the kind help of Shri Biswanath Chakarabort, Samar Roy Chowdhury, Saroj Roy Chowdhury, Sameer Dutta, Niranjan Mukhopadhay ib 1957 Barisha Asar Vidyapith was transfered at a rented house at Silpara. In 1963 a land was purchased from Ram Chandra Plly Co - operative Society at a very resonable price with the help of Sri  Ajit Kumar Basu. It was just on the James Long Sarani Ramchandra Pally. A new building was built to give a parmanent address to the school. Boy's and Girl's section were started separately in a new form. Ultimately the dreams come true. The great leaders are no more with us but their blessings, their inspiration is always with us. New Barisha Asar Vidyapith is devided into three parts - the boy's , girl's and primary. There is a separate building with boundary wall for the primary section. Whene our primary school was started separately in the new address it was a small house. The new three storied building was built under the supervision of our former hesd teacher Late. Malay Kumar Dutta Sir. A committee was formed for the work and Sri Utpal Chatterjee, Sri Dipak Kumar Mitra and other respected persons were in this committee. Zila Parisad of South 24 Parganas helped for the development of the school. Many other well wishers also donated for our new building. We are grateful to them also. New Barisha Asar Vidyapith (Primary) is a co - educational school from the class Nursery - I  to class V. At peresnt there are ten teachers. We hope we will be able to keep the reputation of the school intact.
