History

Established in 1954, Behala Aryya Vidyamandir was affiliated in 1955 to the West Bengal oard of Secondary Education as a Madhyamik school. In 1964, it was upgraded to a Class XI school with Science and Humanities streams and subsequently in 1970, to a Higher Secondary Multipurpose School with Science Humanities and Commerce stream. With the abolishment of the system of class XI school in the state , it had been running as a class X school since 1974. Again in 2004 this institution has been upgraded to a Higher Secondary School with only Science stream.
