The children after completing Primary Education in the attached Primary School were finding difficulty for further studies as there was no Jr. School nearby. So the requests put forward by the local guardians were duly considered by Sri Guru Singh Sabha (The Sole Managing authority of Gurudwara) who realizing the difficulties envisaged by the students specially the girl students as there was no Hindi Medium Jr. High School within the limit of 5 kms.
This school started as 2 class Jr. High School in the year 1970. The financial difficulties in the initial stages were all met by Sri Guru Singh Sabha. The application for Approval was submitted in the year 1972 and with a great struggle and untering efforts of Sri Gyan Singh Sohan Pal (Hon'ble Transport Minister of West Bengal), this school was recognised as a two Class Jr. High School, with Classes V & VI only as the strength was not very good that time. Looking at the best efforts and able guidance given by the staff and good results shown by the students along with the due support of further request of guardians the Sri Guru Singh Sabha was further got interested and extended the school by another two classes. i. e. class VII & VIII, which could be accommodated in the same building belonging to them.
The school building which is still under extension is made fully available for classes as required and the Guru Singh Sabha showing showing their generous attitude has kindly agree to make the school building rent free permanently with effect from 01.06.1980. The West Bengal Board of Secondary Education was kind enough to consider the application for co-education and this school was approved as a Co-educational Junior High School.
