History

Kolkata on 1968 was, well, a quite different city. The Independence of the country was only 21 years old. Kolkata, still, had much more green and open expanses of land.
Nadial High School, a Bengali-medium and co-educational school, opening its gates at Z3/61/A Lenin Road, was an answer to the community’s prayers.
A local landlord, Shri Rishikesh Pal had donated 3 Kathas of land with an inspired mix of love, care and utmost responsibility, to build a two class junior high school, for the betterment of the girls and boys of his locality. The school received its first recognition from WBBSE as a two class junior government aided co-educational school on 01.01.1971. Shri Rishikesh Pal became the first Secretary of the then Managing Committee of our school.
In 1996, with the help of funds raised by the local community, the comely kuchha building soon grew into a newer, bigger, pukka building so that it could bring more and more children into its fold. The school received its second recognition from WBBSE as a four class junior government aided co-educational school on 21.05.1996.
Once again, late Dr. Ali Hossain, took the initiative on behalf of the Nadial Educational Development Committee and raised funds, this time to stop child marriage of their girls and to provide them with education. They bought an adjacent plot of land and donated it to the school to build its annex building. The school received its next recognition from WBBSE as a government aided co-educational secondary school on 01.01.2015.
The school finally reached another milestone of being converted from a government aided institution to a government sponsored one in March 2018.
A splendid milestone in post-Independent Metiaburuz – that’s what Nadial High School has been. And will be, taking on new challenges and fulfilling newer expectations.
