History

In 1939, the Tamluk Sub-Division of undivied Midnapore district was very much equivalent to a growing village . The only institution of  women's education in the Sub-Division is the sixth class Hindu girls' school . President of the Board of Directors Sub-Divisional Ruler Shri B . Under the leadership of K  Acharya , the President of Board of Directors and the local elite society decided to upgrade the school to a tenth grade high school . Construction of the new school building began with the financial assistance of the members of Mahishadal royal family his Highnes Deb Prasad Gargo and Shakti Prasad Grago . In gratitude , the authorities named the school after the family's beloved princess -"Rajkumari santanamoyee High School for Girls " . Sucharita Das took over charge of the institution and contributed to the work of the school principal from 1st April 1940.
