In the Post-Independence period GAITA HIGH SCHOOL alongwith many other schools in rural India was set up to shape' the destiny of India' in her classroom.The school history is crowded with goodwill, struggle and facts of early days when a few natives led by two pioneer educationists of village Gaita - Late Anukul Chandra Dey and Late Satish Chandra Bhowmik - swore for social enlightenment of this remote areas with much needed epitome of education . Their noble idea , dedication , sacrifice and service greatly supported by the local people had its foundation stone on 23rd Jan,1962 , the auspicious day of Subhas Chandra Bose's birth . The school was recognised by the WBBSE as a IV class school w.e.f. 01.01.1965 , and X class school w.e.f 01.01.1967 . Recognition of a Higher Secondary School came from the WBCHSE much later in 2010 .
