History

Saharda Kalipada Vidyapith, the-then Govt.-Aided  and now the Govt.-Sponsored higher secondary school, named after one of the famous persons of Saharda, Lt. Kalipada Ghorai, has grown out of a long cultural and educational development in the block of Pingla in general and in the undilided district of Midnapur in particular. The idea of founding of school in the village was mooted by some dedicated persons, notably by Lt. Shyamchand Dhauriya, Lt. Motilal Nayak, headed by Sri Nanigopal Adhikary. The school owes its origin to a princely donation from Lt. Kalipada Ghorai, Lt. Kalipada Jana and so many land-donors of this village. Lt Kalipada Nayak was the founder of the school. A team of enthusiastic and education-loving personalities laid down the lines of development and took initial steps to found the school. Acres of land were available, donated by some benevolent land-donars, having a compact area and the villagers came forward with great sacrifice and labour with a view to develop on the lines to the needs of the backword area. Now the school has attained much repute by overcoming the maladies prevailing in the field of education to a large extent with a batch of energetic, experienced teachers and non-teachers, thousands of learners and united and determined Managing Committee. Like any other ideal institutions this one also has every potential to educate, guide and inspire the young learners and make them fit for their age and society.
