Pramod Dasgupta Vidyapith was established on 4th February in the year 1986 by some young enthusiasts, fresh from college and universities with the help of some education-loving villagers of Banharisinghapur.On 1st May,1994 the institution got govt recognition and in 2008 it was upgraded to class X.Since 1986 it has been catering education earnestly to the future generations of Banharisinghapur and that of the surrounding villages illuminating the life of the villagers living on cultivation and thus has beacon light for all.
