Rathipur Barada Banipith (H.S.) school was set up at Vill- Rathipur under Ghatal Subdivision of Paschim Medinipur District, West Bengal. August 9, 1942 is regarded as the school foundation day. Erstwhile the school was in the district of undivided Medinipur and now in Paschim Medinipur. It is not far from the Sub-Divisional town Ghatal, but far from the din and bustle of the town. The School is situated at a distance of about 10 km from Birsingha, the holy birth place of Pandit Iswar Chandra Vidyasagar. The village has got historical importance because of Sobha Sing. The Bisalakshmi Temple, situated at a distance of nearly 200 metre from the school commemorates the historical actions of Sobha Sing in the then Chetua Pargana. It marks its presence as a VI class Middle English School in 1942 and then transformed to a High School in 1961, XI Class School in 1965 and XII Class School in 1975. It is a matter of great achievement that in 1985, Debananda Chattopadhyay stood 20th in the H.S. Examination of the WBCHSE and Subhasish Chakraborty stood second in the H.S. Examination in 1997 both from this school.Innumerable students of this school have now been working with higher responsibility within the country and abroad as well. Many are at present being nurtured with the highest hope to be realised.he school has now got the status of a sponsored school.
