Some few words of the Glorious Journey of 85 Years

    Keeping in mind the vital role of a school on moulding the outlook of an individual , we really become nostalgic when we go down the memory lane on the occasion of lunching the website of our school. established in 1935 Kharagpur Silver jubilee high School has been doing great service to the cause of educationfor the masses during it's journey for the last 85 years. Ours a bilingual bengali and Hindi medium schoolhaving about 1100 students . The students are studing 14 subjects in science and Humanities stream in  H S section. situated at Kaushallya area in ward no 25 of Kharagpur Municipality ,the school has been catering to the need of bengali and hindi speaking middle class people as well as backward section of the society . the foundation stone of science block of the school was laid down by none other tahn Dr. Bidhan Chandra roy. It is a great honour to recall that the classes of Kharagpur College ( Estd 1949) began in our school building itself before the establishment of the college building in it's present place. we also deem it an honour to say that the name of the distingushed poet Jibanananda das is also associated with our school as he taught in the departemnt of English in Kharagpur college when the classes of the said college were going on the premises of our school.

       The school needless to say has enviable records in academic, cultural and sports filed. Sri Pradip Chowdhury, the former captain of Indian football team. Sri Pradip Ghosh , the distinguished artist of recitation Sri Subhasis Guha, Sri Baidyanath Das. Sri A Narisha former bnegal and Indain footballers are some of our former students. The renowned lyricist Sri Mukul Dutta taught in our school and began his musical journey to MuMbai fron here. The ex Headmaster of our school, the renowned educationalist Sri Shyamal Dutta has beenhonoured with the prestigous state teachers day award by the Govt. of west Bengal on 5th september 1999 in recognitionof his outstanding contribution in the field of education and culture. We are moreover proud to recall the achievements of our students . our student Sayantan Mohindar stood 10 th in the state merit list in Madhyamik Pariksha 1990 and Sowel Ahmed Gazi won two gold medals in World Yoga competition in Argentina in 2017.
