History

Kamakhyaguri High School(XII) was established in 1948 at kamakhyaguri. This is a Rural area which is under Kumargram Block of Alipurduar District. This is a Govt. sponsored Co-Educational Institute. The mission of the school is to provide quality and independent education. That focused on engaging and active learning, a commitment to the environment and dedication to the school and local communities. Since its opening, the school’s dynamic educational environment has continued to evolve.

In 1954, Govt. was granted authorization to offer the Secondary Programme. In, 1975  was granted authorization to offer the Higher Secondary programme.

Soon after the school began, word started to spread. Now the total enrollment is approximately 2400(Two thousand Four Hundred). This is our great achievement that, Some Student secures their State Rank in Madhyamik and Higher Secondary Board Exam. School has a huge Campus with a well furnished play ground. In this play ground District Sports, State Level Sports are organized with the involvement of school authority.

School has 41 Teachers, 1 Librarian, 2 Clerks, 4 Group-D staff and 1 Watchman. There is also Two Vocational teachers.

School has 4 Building Blocks with 24 Classrooms, 6 Boys Toilets, 3 Girls Toilets, 15 Boys Urinals and 5 Girls Urinals. School has also 1 CWSN friendly toilet for girls and 1 CSWN friendly toilet for boys. School has a CSWN room with all equipment to teach specially challenged students. School has an Indoor Stadium where students play badminton, carom, Table Tennis etc.

            Science, Arts both stream are available in this school. Sufficient tools are available in Chemistry, Physics, Biology and Geography laboratory. Library of the school has more than 1250 books with space where many students can sit and learn. School also provide the Smart Classroom where students can learn with the help of Multimedia Contents and TLM.

School has also two vocational subjects (IT/ITES & Health Care) with well decorated laboratory. The laboratories are full with equipments, those helps students to do their practical smoothly.

The Mid day Meal section is also well maintained and follow the govt. instructions strictly. School has a chilled water machine and hand washing place.
