History

Sorrounded by the Bhutan hill on one side and lush green forest and stream on the other, Dhanapati Toto Memorial High School started its journey in the year 1979. The dream of spreading education in one of the remote parts of Alipurduar district, the habitat of the Toto tribe, the smallest sect of tribes in the world, came true as  a result of earnest effort by some visionaries namely Sri Dinesh Toto, the donor of the school. The school was named after Dhanapati Toto, the deceased father of Sri Dinesh Toto. Dhanapati Toto Memorial High School situated at Totopara, 22 kms away from Madarihat (nearest town from Totopara). Totopara also shares the international border with Bhutan. The school was upgraded as a junior high school in 1982. It is a co-educational institutions.The school got recongnition for seceondary school in 1992 and has been upgraded to higher secondary school in 2019. The school is promoting students to participate actively in the field of culture, sports and social activities. Mrs. Misha Ghoshal is the Headmistress of the school.who got Shiksha Ratna award in the year 2018.
