History

The School started his path in a rented house at Kendutala of Bamda, Jhargram in the year 1950 with 60 number of students. The persons who undertook an enterprise role are Late Birendranath Biswas, Late Surendranath Majumdar, Late Gopal Bhattacharya, Late Kailash Chandra Ray, Late Chittaranjan Biswas. Late Kailash Chandra Ray was the Founder Headmaster of the School. The school was named as “Jhargram Asoke Vidyapith” in the name of great Mourya Samrat ‘Asoke’. The logo of the school was taken from the Stiker of Samrat Asoke.

Mr. Shyamaprasad Mukherjee came in an inspection in the school in 1952. He granted the school as a ‘Junior High School’ and he gave order that the door of the school will be opened to all.

In 1953, the school changed his place to the place of near Bamda Rail Gate (Near Annapurna Mandir), Jhargram. The school run upto 1956 in this place. Mr. Aurobinda Bose came in an inspection in 1956.

The school was burnt in a thunder. Then the school building was transferred to the present place. The present land amounting 6 Bighas was donated by Md. Amir Ali and he imposed a condition that the door of the school will be opened to Muslim students also. He laid the foundation of the school building in his own hand.

Then the school received grant of Rs. 8000/- (Eight Thousand only) and Rs. 21,000/- (Twenty One Thousand only) at a time. In these grants the classrooms, partly boundary wall of the school and a well were made.

In 1960, Late Manoranjan Bose, H.M. tried to upgrade the school as a High School. In 1963, the school has gotten the permission as a High School in the Headmastership of  Late Krishnendu Chaki. The school has gotten the permission to introduce Higher Secondary Section (ARTS) in 2000 in the Headmastership of Mr. Sukumar Paira. The school has gotten the permission to introduce Geography in the Year 2008-09. Mr. Shyamal Kumar Bhui has join as Headmaster of the school in September, 2014. In his leadership the school has gotten the permission to introduce Physics, Chemistry, Biological Sciences in 2015-2016, Modern Computer Application in 2016-17 & Nurtrition in 2019-20 session respectively in H.S. Section of the school.

The school is going on for more future.
