History

Basanta Maya Junior Basic School was establised in the year 1937.  50 decimal of land was donated by, Late Barrister Ari Bahadur Gurung and the school was named after his late mother, Basanta Maya Gurung.

The school is situated in Makaldhara, Bara Bhalukhop, Kalimpong. The school hold one election booth and has been educating children for the last eighty three years.
