History

                                  The present Ganesh High School, situated at Bong Busty, Kalimpong was established on 5th February 1962. It was then recognised as Ganesh Senior Basic School, which was later converted to Ganesh Junior High School. The school was constructed on the land donated by Dikura Devi Naipal to Ganesh Mandir, which later donated 62 decimals for the construction of school by the Mandir Committee. The school building was constructed with the contribution made by the local people for the underprivileged children of the village. For 49 years the school remained as Junior High School. In 2011, with the active initiative of Shri R.P.Tamang, board member of West Bengal Secondary Education for Hill Areas, Ganesh Junior High School was upgraded to the status of a high school.
