
SCHOOL HISTORY
Lower Dong Primary School is located at Lower Dong Village, Samthar Gram Panchayat under Kalimpong Development Block-I, Kalimpong District, GTA, West Bengal. The school consists of grades from I to IV. The school is Co Ed and it has unattached pry primary section. Lower Dong Primary School established on 24/04/1971. It is managed by the department of Education Govt. of West Bengal. Initally this school has a very humble origin with thatched hut in the years 1971 made by the local committee of Lower Dong Village. Now we have one storage School building constructed by NHPC Stage –III, Rambi. The School’s land was donated by Lt. Dhane Subba and Lt. Dhanmaya Subba that is 0.77 acres to lower Dong Primary School before 1971. The school takes pride of its excellent teaching methodology. This school’s primary medium is in English with Nepali. Children take part in different extra co curriculum activities like hand works sports cultural show, School sanitation, Vocal music and Gardening etc. This school is also an election booth.
