History

Gayrock Primary School is located at Gayrock Busty, Kagay Gram Panchayat, BPO. Kagay Bazar, Dist-Kalimpong under Kalimpong General Circle, Algarah. Since the school was started in the village in a small hut, at that time,Rev. Sisters of Maria Convent were taking Christian classes for the local children, further it was started running as a night school under the leadership of Late Smuel Singh. After the successful result of the night school the Government recognized the school as a Govt. Primary School in the year 1961.

The 0.50 acre land of the school was donated by Late. Jacob Lepcha. Mr James Rai was a first appointed teacher of the school who joined the school on 1st November 1961. Futher, following dedicated teachers given their services in the school ;-
