History of the school

Srirampur village   is situated on the bank of river Damodar in the Andal block. The village is a remote one. the nearby town, Andal is 4 km away.  

Till 2007, there were only a few primary schools running in the village, so many children of the village were not able to complete their basic school education, for after class 4 the children had to   either walk 4kms or cycle the whole way, so mostly children dropped school after class 4, specially the girls....

Thus, after many struggles, , this school, SRIRAMPUR JUNIOR HIGH SCHOOL was opened in the village in the  year 2008.

This is the only high school in this area catering to well being of the students of this area, nurturing them till class eight.

The poor families, specially the scheduled caste, the girl students have been highly benefitted by this school.

Earlier when students of this village had to dropout schools after class 4 are now passing board exams of class 10 and 12 successfully and are studying college, taking up jobs in respected fields....they are able to dream high.
