Welcome to all from Shokna Nutangram Sagar Laha High School

Shokna Nutangram Sagar Laha High School was established in 1968. But it was recognized by the Govt. in 1971.It was started with 15 students under the supervision of respected Bankim Chandra Laha with reputed teachers Kamalakanta Mahapatra, Bhupen Laha and Rabi Laha on 22nd January in 1968 under a Peepul tree in order to cater to the needs of Nutangram –Shokna villagers for a high school. At first two rooms were constructed with the collective financial help of villagers. It was permitted 2 class schools in 1971.Local people came forward and expand their hands spontaneously. Gradually it was promoted from 2 classes to 4 class high school. It was initially known as Shokna Nutangram Jr. High School. Respected Bhanupada Laha and his brothers, sons of respected Sagar Laha had taken a great role to construct school building and then school was known as Shokna Nutangram Sagar Laha Jr. High School. Later on it was upgraded as 10 class high schools in 2000. It is a co-educational institution and a Govt. sponsored institution. At present school is a better infrastructure and highly riched skilled teachers and nonteaching staff. School already published school magazine inspite of financial limitation. It develops continuously in every aspect. School has a beautiful play ground rounded with boundary wall and has a computer lab with computer teacher.MDM programme is smoothly running. School was already celebrated Golden Jubilee through an auspicious occasion. Above all, it gives the students a platform to do better in life and build a good citizen. Last of all we are grateful to our respected land donors and well wishers of this locality who are the real creators of this prestigious institution.
