Dannya Junior High School is situated at village-Dannya, Baidyanathpur Gram Panchayet, Pandaveswar Circle, under Durgapur Sub-Divison, Paschim Bardhaman. Some educated minds, social workers and people of the village felt the need of a school in the village as the nearby school was almost 3Kms away. To fulfill this purpose, with a view of spreading education among the rural and unprivileged students of Dannya Village the school is established officially in 2010. At first the classes were held in the building of free primary school of Dannya with 3 teachers only. Later on a renowned social worker of Mohal village namely Late Khetramohan Chattopadhyay donated the land for the school.
The present school building is built in 2013. There are 2 classrooms and 1 office room in the school. At present there are 3 teachers and 187 student strength. Separate girls and boys toilet is also available. There is provision of kitchen for preparing mid-day meal and a dining shade where students take there mid-day meal. There is also a deep tubewell in the school premises for drinking water. The school also has a vast area of playground.
Although the facilities and condition of the school has been improved from past few years, still there are many areas where attention is needed. The school lacks a definite boundary around. Also more classrooms are needed to help in facilitating the increasing number of students eager to attend school.
